Prepare for your golf round
by Paul Jaure
It is human nature to wonder what is coming next.
In golf it makes a big difference to start out with a plan of
some sort, even if you are just a beginner.
The first shot on the 1st tee is probably the hardest and most
pressured shot of the day.
It might just set the pace for the remainder of your round.
This should not be the case! Just plan a simple smooth shot down
the middle to get things going.
The next step is planning your way forward, shot by shot,
without wasting any strokes. Not so easy, right? But that is the
game's fascination... the unexpected, the good, and the tragic.
You must believe in my following advise... the score you turn in
doesn't matter as long as you enjoy the experience.
Also know that you don't have to match shots with your
companions, whether they are friend or foe.
Plan to play YOUR OWN game, and use the shots that you are
good at.
Use these shots to your benefit!
For example, putting from a long way off the green is smart play
if you are good at it. Avoid trouble by going AROUND obstacles.
In other words...just play smart and use the shots you have
confidence to your benefit.
Above all, before you start your round imagine in your mind
how you will play every hole.
Planning to play well begins by you believing you can do so!
